Yes, but all they did was temporarily suspend trading in companies that
were hyped in pump and dump spam. They didn't use their money, guns and
lawyers to actually go after the spammers. See

But to bring this back to topic, I would strongly recommend against
qmail as an MTA. Both postfix and exim (and even sendmail) are better
choices for many of the reasons that others have stated.
